Spring Science Spectacular at Woodgrove Centre

Another year, another Spring Break. NS3’s Science on the Move will again be bringing hands-on science fun to Woodgrove Centre. During the two weeks of Spring Break 2020, we will set up free drop-in activities with a different theme each day of the week. There will be two NS3 Educators facilitating the exploration, building, and play.

Mondays, March 16 and 23 – Air up There
Tuesdays, March 17 and 24 – Mysterious Magnets
Wednesdays, March 18 and 25 – Engineering Extravaganza
Thursdays, March 19 and 26 – Tinker Time

11am – 2pm Mondays – Thursdays. Parent supervision required.
We will be set up in the square near the Purdy’s and Sephora stores.

These workshops are FREE, LIMITED SEATING, AND FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVE. Sign-up sheets will be available 1hr prior to the program start. Maximum 20 students per workshop. Ages 5+. Adults will have to sign a waiver form if they do not stay for the hour workshop.

Friday, March 20:
11am – Squishy Circuits – Students will use conductive and insulating dough to light up LEDs, run motors and sound buzzers!
1pm – Terrariums – Terrariums are a closed system and provide an awesome example of the water cycle in action. Create one to take home!

Friday, March 27:
11am – LEGO Robotics – Create LEGO robots then program them to move using drag and drop programming software.
1pm – Learn some basic chemistry fundamentals while you try
your hand at making things bubble and creating slime.

We will be set up in the square by the Purdy’s and Sephora stores.
