Required age: 3 – 5 on the day of the activity
Notes: Parent participation strongly encouraged – fees are per child participating.
For our indoor programs, children may only attend alone if parents remain on site (Country Club Centre) with prior arrangement with Nanaimo Science.
Children will be assigned their own work space and equipment and students will need to respect social distancing and remain at their table/work station while indoors.
A safety checklist will be required upon arrival.
Masks must be worn by all adults and school-aged children during the duration of the indoor workshops. Preschool children are welcomed and encouraged to wear masks while attending programs as well.
Nanaimo Science reserves the right to cancel a program one week prior to the start date, and will refund all fees for a cancelled program. Programs cancelled less than one week prior to the start date due to unforeseen reasons (including but not limited to weather conditions or site safety) will be rescheduled or fees will be refunded as credit towards another program. Withdrawal with refund must be requested in writing more than two weeks prior to the program start date. Any withdrawals or changes will be subject to a $10 administrative fee for a single day program, and $15 for a multi-day program (per child registered).
There are NO REFUNDS given for withdrawals requested less than two weeks prior to the first day of a registered program or at any time during the program. Pro-rated refunds are NOT available for days absent from a registered program.
Photos and videos taken during programs are used for Nanaimo Science promotional materials, publications and advertisements. Please note, we never publish children’s names. Parents/guardians may request no photos or videos be taken of their children.
To help ensure social distancing, Nanaimo Science is:
- increasing the ratio of Leaders to children for greater supervision
- instituting rigorous hand-hygiene, cleaning and sanitizing
- Children must be healthy to attend Wandering School – any child exhibiting signs of sickness, fever, or cough/sneezing will be sent home, as will their siblings.
- COVID-19 Safety Measures will be in effect.
