
New! Spring 2022 Science in the Park with the RDN

Saturday April 23, 2022 at Englishman River Regional Park – Learn about erosion, the rock cycle and rivers in general at Top Bridge and Englishman River Regional Park.
Saturday May 28, 2022 at the HR MacMillan Arboretum – Learn about trees: deciduous vs. coniferous and their life cycles; and the history of the arboretum as a place of research.
Saturday June 25, 2022 at Moorecroft Regional Park – Learn about the animals, birds, insects and aquatic life that call Moorecroft Regional Park home.
Each program runs from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM, rain or shine. Families are welcome to drop by anytime during this window. Parent participation required – activities may include nature hikes, explorations of
local flora and fauna, science games and art projects.
Summer 2022 Science in the Park
Summer 2022 dates will be announced soon! We are grateful to the Canada Parks and Recreation Association for their support of our summer Science in the Park program
Please note: This event is intended for children and families, parent participation is mandatory. For safety purposes we require children under age 16 to be accompanied by a minimum number of supervising adults:
- Children 4 years old and under, 1 adult per every 3 children is required.
- Children 5 years old to 9 years old, 1 adult per every 5 children is required.
- Children 10 years old to 16 years old, 1 adult per 10 children is required.
