Dive into the world of circuits with hands-on activities that will light up your imagination. Create your very own moving “Jitterbug” using simple motors\, explore endless possibilities with Snap Circuits\, and design a festive\, holiday-themed light-up card to take home. This day of creative exploration is perfect for young inventors and tinkerers! Join us for a day full of science\, crafting\, and cheer. \nLunch/recess will be held outdoors when weather permits\, which will include a walk to Long Lake (approximately 15 minutes each way\, on side roads).  While this is a primarily indoor camp\, students must bring appropriate outerwear for recess/lunch. \nRuns from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. DESCRIPTION:Join us to learn more about the world of animals and plants at our “Awesome Adaptations” Pro D Camp on November 8! We’ll be exploring how creatures survive and thrive in different environments with fun hands-on activities. Learn about the amazing defense tactics of plants and animals\, engage in an interactive exploration of bird adaptations\, and get creative in our “Build-a-Beast” workshop\, where you’ll design your own ultimate survivor! \nLunch/recess will be held outdoors when weather permits\, which will include a walk to Long Lake (approximately 15 minutes each way\, on side roads).  While this is a primarily indoor camp\, students must bring appropriate outerwear for recess/lunch. \nRuns from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. By choosing a pre-loved costume\, you’ll be reducing your environmental impact while still enjoying all the fun of the season. Let’s make this Halloween not just affordable\, but eco-conscious and sustainable!\n\nHow It Works:Simply show up and pick a costume – it’s that easy! The event is first-come\, first-served\, with options for all ages. There may be a lineup to avoid overcrowding\, so your patience is appreciated!\n\nCostume Donations:Do you have a gently-used costume to donate? All three Vancouver Island Regional Library (VIRL) locations in Nanaimo are accepting donations until October 16th.
