June Camps

SD68 is still in school at this time

June 17 – 21 – Tinker Time
Ages 6+

It’s a tinker time! Join NS3 for a spring break camp that is all about tinkering and building. Have you ever tried to build a roller coaster with paper? Or built a house with only dowels and elastics? Dabble with circuits to make a wand, program Ozobots, and explore your creativity as you construct different creations. Tinkering is all about trial and error, and exploring what works for you!

June 24 – 28 – Science & Art
Ages 6+

NS3’s Science & Art camp explores the many facets of science, technology, engineering, art, and math through hands on experiments, mentors, and movement. Flex your engineering muscles by building a cool cardboard contraption using linkages and building. Explore light with colour and shadows, and see the mathematical patterns in art by building a birdseed mosaic. Learn about pH with colour changes and orbie exploration.

July and August Camps

Let’s Go LEGO!

July 2 – 5 and August 6 – 9, Ages 6+

Join NS3 for a week of LEGO mania. Build LEGO creations, program LEGO robots, make your own LEGO movie, and more! If you’re a LEGO fanatic, this camp is the week for you! Students can work at their own pace and no prior LEGO Robotics experience is necessary (though a strong interest is required). We will also mix things up a bit with other LEGO themed activities, challenges, and some time spent outside.

Tech-topia

July 8-12,  Ages 6-8

Calling all young computer scientists and programmers (6 – 8 years old)! Join NS3 for a week all about exploring the multiple forms of technology! We will take apart electronics to see what’s going on inside, explore circuitry and create LEGO scribbler. You’ll take on programming, design, and building challenges with Ozobots, and get first hand knowledge from a Tech mentor of some of the different things the field of Technology has to offer.

July 15-19, Ages 9+

Calling all computer scientists and programmers (9 – 12 years old)! Join NS3 for a week all about exploring the multiple forms of technology! We will take apart electronics to see what’s going on inside, program with scratch, and explore 3D printing creations. You’ll take on programming, design, and building challenges with Ozobots and EV3 mindstorms, and get first hand knowledge from a Tech mentor of some of the different things the field of Technology has to offer.

Science & Art

Flex your engineering muscles by building a cool cardboard contraption using linkages and building bridges. Explore light with colour and shadows, and see the mathematical patterns in art by building a birdseed mosaic. Learn about pH with colour changes and orbie exploration.

August 12-16, Ages 8+

NS3 Science & Art camp explores the many facets of science, technology, engineering, art, and math through hands on experiments, mentors, and movement. Work together to build a giant chain reaction that fills up the studio! Flex your engineering muscles by building a cool cardboard contraption using linkages and building bridges. Explore circuits and motion by creating a light-up flip-stick (thaumatrope) and see the mathematical patterns in art by building a birdseed mosaic. Learn about pH with colour changes and orbie exploration.

Girl’s Science Club

July 29 – August 2, Ages 6+

Hey girls – this week is all you! NS3’s all girl week helps budding female scientists find their footing and explore their interest in science. Learn about pollinators by exploring our natural edibles garden and building a crank powered butterfly with flapping wings. Test your creativity by making your own claymation film and designing a popsicle stick bracelet. Discover microplastics, different ways to reduce plastic use and make reusable beeswax wraps!
